Grants scheme for STEM Directories activities

STEM E&E Grant schemes (schools in England only)

A limited number of grants of up to £500 are available for teachers of any STEM subject to have a STEM E&E activity take place at your school, to be chosen from those listed in these online STEM Directories. Please note, STEM E&E grants are currently only available for schools in England as our funder is the Department for Education. Grants are drawn at random from the entrants.

Mathematics Grant Scheme (UK wide)

Grants of up to £500 towards choosing a mathematical activity listed in the online STEM Directories are being offered by the Royal Institution, funded by The Clothworkers' Foundation. The scheme is designed to raise awareness and use of enrichment activities and to support your professional development, whilst enhancing the mathematical experience in your school.

The deadlines for applications is Monday 30 September 2013 at 5pm.

What is being offered

  • Grants of up to £500 for a mathematics E&E activity for your school in 2013-2014, to be chosen from those listed on the STEM Directories .

In exchange you will be expected to

  • Provide feedback on the delivered activity and this project.
  • Engage in how learning from the experience can inform and be sustained in your and your school's teaching.

Note: The STEM Directories are an easy way to find Enhancement and Enrichment (E&E) opportunities to support your science, engineering, design and mathematics teaching. Some schemes bring exciting activities into your school, others can provide a memorable day out for your students or a nationwide competition to help motivate your science club. They might involve bringing a real scientist, engineer or mathematician into the classroom, give your students access to equipment not readily available or simulate real-life applications of science and technology. Many schemes can provide supporting teaching materials to help get the most of the activity.

Deadline 30th September - RAEng Ingenious Grant Scheme

Royal Academy of Engineering's Ingenious grant scheme

Just a quick reminder that the Royal Academy of Engineering's public engagement grant scheme is still open for applications. Funding of £3,000 to £30,000 is being offered for projects that will engage the public with engineering. Projects should also offer engineers skills and opportunities in public engagement.

This scheme helps schools to run exciting and innovative projects in partnership with a professional scientist or engineer.

Since 2000, the scheme has awarded over £1.1 million to 660 schools and has ignited enthusiasm for science among young people across the UK.

Sign up to be a member of the Science and Plants for Schools Associate Scheme, which is free of charge and will be eligible to apply for a grant of up to £500 for new plant-related activity in your school.
