CES Engineering Competition 2012

Open to all schools in the Essex area, not just those around Chelmsford, this is an anuual engineering competition organised by Chelmsford engineering Society.

There are  3 age categories - KS3, KS4 and KS5 and 5 project entry categories -

  • A Design Category: for project work that has focused on the design process, the aesthetics and functionality of the manufactured/fabricated prototype, and its ease of manufacture.
  • A Systems Category: for project work that has focused on the implementation of the project, the examination of alternative engineering/technology techniques and solutions, and where the performance and the benefits of the selected solution have been determined. The technological justification for component hardware or software should be understood and demonstrated.
  • A Club Showcase Category: For work carried out by members of the School or College Engineering/ Technology Club. Up to four members of the Club may attend as representatives. (Check with us if you wish to bring along more students please)
  • An apprentice project category
  • A computer programming project - new for this year.
